This has been driving me insane. Noise starts at 17 seconds or so, you can really hear it 17-25, and then on and off after that as I am driving around the block.

It sounds like metal on metal rubbing, but I am not sure where from. Leaf springs or u-bolts?? It has brand new shocks, driveshaft has been greased well... I am out of ideas.

Bonus under the truck shot of all my exhausts on the two WRXs in the garage.

The noise seems to happen when the rear suspension unloads, either due to the bump coming off the driveway, or every time you let off the gas or brake. I would guess a bad leaf spring bushing, or a cracked leaf in one of the packs.

Sway bar bushings/links.

Dried out rubber bushing on top side of shock so that the top mount has a little play in it. Or the leaf pack is getting loose and shifting . The first leaf  that mounts the frame might be tight, but the other leafs are shifting underneath.

Yeah, sounds like the leafs are loose, jack it off the ground and give them a wiggle.

Dakars   are notorious for squeezing/chirping as well.

Brand new Bilstein 5100's. Leaf springs or their bushings are a possibility.

I’ll have to look - I dealt with the front sway bar recently, I can’t even remember if this truck has one in the back.

My father has a first gen Tundra and it has a rear sway bar. It's a TRD though.

Mine isn’t TRD. I’ll check, as soon as I have someone handy to get on the bumper and bounce the truck for me.

It could be a bushing or leaf spring. I am not 100% sure how to check if they are making the noise while the truck is moving.

I’m going to go way out on a limb here. Is the topper well secured? The bed liner in my current rental is wiggling around and makes a similar noise. I can see where it is sitting wrong and rubbing on the bed. The paint is nearly gone in that spot.

We had a noise like that in the garage last week. Turned out to be an axel bearing. All you can do is jack it up and shake it down. Good luck.

Topper is very tight, attached in 6 places. Tundra forums are saying there are bushings where the bed attaches to the chassis, I’ll have to check those.

Did it already with a jack , my mechanic did it on a lift, no give - that was my first thought.
